Challenges and Successes

There were lots of challenges and successes that we faced through the course of the project. One thing that this project helped us understand more clearly was perseverance, and team ethics. It is very important to never give up in life, we have to always work around challenges and learn to adapt to any situation we are put in.

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”

– Albert Einstein

Successes that we had:

  • During the first week of the project, we managed to collect all members contacts, and create a facebook group, in addition to an instagram group.
  • We managed to spread the work load of the project equally, to avoid a situation where 1 person was in charge of completing a significant portion of the project
  • The roles that were assigned for the project all focused on each members strengths, this ensured that we had the necessary experience to work on said aspect of the project.

Challenges that we experienced:

  • Since none of the members of the group had any prior experience working with WordPress, it was very difficult initially to set the blog up. Another difficulty that came with the WordPress blogs was the ability to share the blog with other members of the group. In order to work around this issue we had to set up more meeting times to be able to work on the blog through the admins device.
  • When making the initial Trapezoidal prism, we used a smaller scale that we had found to be working for the average phone. We upscaled it by a factor of 3 to compensate for the size of the iPad, however, this resulted in the Hologram only being visible in half of the prism. In order to fix this mistake, we had to do further research to determine how to create a prism that compensates for this size change and worked with the iPad Pro.
  • Other complications that followed, revolved around the lack of experience that we had, for example in order to create the hologram projection that involved images of the 4 of us. Due to lack of experience, when creating the template the images were not properly aligned initially, this caused the images to not fit inside the prism. This was remedied easily, and only required the readjustment of all 4 image sizes in addition to another rendering in order to create the short video. In addition, another problem we faced was that on the first rendition of the template, when adding the images to the template there was in inaccurate rotation, as a result when testing we noticed that the images were upside down.
